Winter is really here!

Cold weather is here and there's snow up the hill. Time for some wintery cards like this one. Snowflakes courtesy of our Artiste cartridge. Snowflake border made with EK Success border punch.

This One is for my Flakey Friends

Well the weather has finally cooled off- for the most part. We've got some mid 80's forecast for this week. But I'm certain that this is summer's last hurrah! And not to rush things, but I was in the mood to make a snowman card. I just love the images available on C1506 Flakey Friends. Here is what I came up with using the Triple Time Stamping technique.

My Scrappin' with Phyllis blog was nominated for the Liebster Award by two very special crafters at Cricut with Heart! Thank you so much Mary and Rachel! I was totally surprised and honored to be recognized.

Liebster is a German word meaning "Beloved," "Favorite," or "Dearest." This award is a peer to peer award in which fellow bloggers present the award to their favorite bloggers with less than 200 followers. The origins of this award is unclear, but is believed to have originated by a German blogger. This award was designed to be a blog award in the pay it forward fashion to share your dearest and most beloved blogs that have less than 200 followers.

Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to their blog. Post the award onto your blog. Give the award to five bloggers who you appreciate that have less than 200 followers. Leave a comment on their blog letting them know that you have given them this awesome award!

Now the hard part- I must choose 5 blogs that I think deserve recognition- and there are so many to choose from!
I have chosen to pass this award to:

Lalia Harris-Crafty Lalia
Mary Thompson-Scrapbookers Rock
Jane O'Leary-Doing It With Ink
Pam Trostle-Pam's Crafty Creations

Nikki Forte' DeWitt-Nikki D's Close to My Heart Crafty Blog

Be sure to check out these blogs and leave a comment if you like what you see. We bloggers love hearing from you!

If you loved coloring as a kid....

Then this Close To My Heart stamp set is for you! I colored the scarecrow image with out watercolor pencils and the blending pen. Would have liked to use our new alcohol markers but I don't have all the colors yet. I think I'll try another one when I get more colors so I can compare. The alcohol markers give you richer, deeper colors.

Another Moonlight Layout

The Moonlight Complements are so darn cute that I did not want to let them just sit in the bag. You know what I mean. You make the layout shown in the book and then the leftovers sit there til you move them from the current stuff to the maybe-some-day section. So here is my second layout using Moonlight.

Avonlea Sympathy Card

I made this card for a friend of mine who recently lost his mother. Although it has a flower on it I think the colors are masculine enough for a guy. The flower is a rolled fridge flower that I saw demoed on You Tube some time ago and I couldn't find the video again to reference it. I took a one inch strip of paper about 10 inches long, folded in half and glued the long edges together. Then fridged the fold edge and rolled up the strip and gently spread the petals out. Pretty simple.

Moonlight Halloween Layout

I just love this layout from the Moonlight Workshops on the Go Scrapbooking Kit. I changed up the colors a little bit- thanks to a post I saw by Diane Bowman- used more Smokey Plum instead of Black- and I think it will work well with the new purple Halloween lights I bought to decorate our front porch. Maybe the younger neighborhood kids won't think it's so scary looking with some additional lighting. Can't wait to add the pictures. Room for 2 5x7s, a 6x4 and a 4x6.

Another Halloween card from Moonlight. I think the dead plant in the background adds a nice touch. Obviously I am not good with plants.

Halloween is Coming!

Thought I'd better get busy on some Halloween cards as I have lots to mail to all my grandchildren. Sure wish they didn't all live so far away. I'll miss seeing them in costumes and going trick-or-treating.

This swing card comes from a pattern on our new Cricut Artiste cartridge and paper from the Moonlight pack. I am loving this cartridge and can't wait to get my own. (thanks Mary for sharing!)

Sympathy Card

I wanted to create a sympathy card for a memorial service today and took my inspiration from the Mojo Monday 222 challenge this week with the Close to My Heart Wings paper packet and a rose made with our Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. Love the way it turned out.
